KCHW NEWS REPORTS

Costco’s iconic $1.50 hot dog-and-soda combo isn’t changing in price, but what’s in your cup might taste different.

The Issaquah-based retailer has begun replacing PepsiCo products with Coca-Cola beverages in its food courts, with the transition starting this summer and a full rollout expected this fall across 14 countries, according to Coca-Cola spokesperson Bailey Rogers.

Shoppers at the Shoreline and Woodinville warehouses are already seeing the shift, with soda dispensers turning from blue to red and serving Diet Coke, Sprite, Barq’s Root Beer, and Minute Maid lemonade.

Costco sold 229 million hot dog-and-soda combos in 2024—up from nearly 200 million the year before—making the drink choice a significant business move. The meal includes a quarter-pound hot dog on a sesame seed bun and a 20-ounce soda with free refills, plus complimentary condiments from the food court station.

The switch marks Costco’s return to Coca-Cola after moving to PepsiCo products in 2013, a change originally aimed at keeping the combo’s price locked at $1.50.
