The Kalispel Tribe of Indians is celebrating tradition, culture, and community spirit at the 48th Annual KTI Pow-Wow, held at the tribe’s pow-wow grounds near Usk on August 1-3.

Festivities begin Thursday evening with Campers Night at 5:30 p.m., offering a chance for attendees to settle in and reconnect.

Friday brings the anticipated arrival of the traditional canoe at approximately 2 p.m., followed by the first Grand Entry at 7 p.m., where dancers in full regalia will enter the arena to kick off the weekend’s main events.

Saturday features the Buffalo Fun Run at 9 a.m. and a community Buffalo BBQ at 11 a.m. Two Grand Entries are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday’s Grand Entry begins at 1 p.m.

The weekend also includes multiple dance specials and a lively stickgame tournament. Registration for the youth tournament closes at 1 p.m. Sunday, and registration for the main tournament ends at 4 p.m.

With food, culture, competition, and community all wrapped into one celebration, the KTI Pow-Wow promises a vibrant and memorable experience for all who attend. The event is free and open to the public.
