A dramatic playoff finish capped off a highly competitive weekend at the annual July 2-Man Golf Tournament held July 12–13 at the Chewelah Golf and Country Club.
After two days of stellar play across four flights, the team of Payton Norvell and Sky Griepp emerged victorious in the Championship Flight with a gross score of 130, edging out Gary Hentges Jr. and Brenton Harting in a tense playoff. Norvell and Griepp held their composure under pressure to claim the title, while Hentges and Harting finished second with a gross 135.
Rounding out the top five gross scores in the Championship Flight were Craig Gronning and Mark Fancher (138), Luke Sheppard and Matthew Chalmers (139), and Curtis Spores and Mike Robinson (141).
On the net side of the Championship Flight, another playoff decided the winner. Kyle McGuire and Ryan Pitkonen edged out Devin Hallstrom and Dallas Moore after both teams carded a net 130. Griffin Stroyan and Clint Long took third with a net 134, followed by Matthew Cronin and Charlie Magee (135) and Corrie MacAllister and Casey Clare (136).
In the First Flight, the gross title went to Dave Park and Ben Park, who posted a solid 140. Brett Smith and Austin Burgess claimed second at 145. A three-way tie for third at 146 featured teams of Peter Sowards and Grayson Ervin, Bob Oakley and Steve Oakley, and Tony Souther and Lindsay Baxter.
Net honors in the First Flight went to Craig Roth and Doug Smith with a low score of 130, followed closely by Bill and Ted Wissink (131), James Anderson and Erick Knutson (134), Gary and Shane Douglas (135), and a tie at 136 between Donovan Nyseth and Justin Naccarato and Terry Filler and Andy Anderson.
The Second Flight saw Chad Dinkins and Jason Baldwin win gross with a 145, five strokes ahead of Brian Harting and Joe Feist (153). Jack George and Dave Tupek followed with 154, and a tie at 157 rounded out the top five between Kent Dowding and Phil Lopez and Jeff Mattocks and Kevin Kratochvil.
On the net side, Dave Pohto and Barry Meyer fired a tournament-best 128 to secure first place. Brian Rise and Jeff Rounds were second at 130, followed by Mike and Pat Eggers (133), Connor Parker and Dalton Hanson (134), and Mike Fiola and Colin Mai (135).
In the Third Flight, the gross title went to Brent and Pierce Naccarato, who scored 151. Ray Matthews and Roger Williamson were second at 159, with Steve Decook and Dell Baker in third (163). Doug Lambert and Tracy Ross (165) and John Franks and Dave Haskell (166) completed the top five.
The net leaderboard was topped by Dave Stroyan and Kevin Kernan with a 133. John Painter and Don Durham finished just behind at 134. Dan Knutson and Jacob Mullin placed third (136), while a three-way tie for fourth at 138 included Lonnie Humphrey and Damon McCullough, Ron Pelton and Dennis Buhrman, and Matt Clayton and Zack Gray.
