Chewelah’s outdoor summer theater tradition continues with a stirring production of The Tempest, William Shakespeare’s epic tale of magic, shipwreck, and redemption. Presented by Center Stage Productions as part of the “Shakespeare on the Green” series, the show will take place July 19 and 20 at 4 p.m. at the Chewelah Center for the Arts, located at 405 N 3rd Street East.

Admission is free, making this a must-see cultural event for families and theater lovers throughout the region.

Directed and edited by Paula Randall, this version of The Tempest is expected to deliver a visually engaging and emotionally resonant experience. The production will also feature a special performance by Singing Rivers Drum, adding a powerful rhythmic layer to the mystical and dramatic atmosphere of the play.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to enjoy the show outdoors in true Shakespearean fashion. Whether you’re a lifelong Shakespeare fan or new to his work, The Tempest offers a chance to experience timeless storytelling under the summer sky.
